What we collect, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.
Last updated: 9 August 2026
Qwistra is operated by Bit4orge Solutions Limited. This policy explains how we handle personal data when you use Qwistra. If you have questions about anything here, contact us at support@qwistra.com.
When you create an account we store your email address and display name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, name and profile picture from Google — we never receive your Google password.
We store the notes, documents and other material you upload, along with the summaries, flashcards and quizzes generated from them. This content is yours.
We collect error reports and diagnostic information when something goes wrong, so we can fix it. This may include your browser, device type and the actions leading up to an error.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your notes or study material to serve advertising.
When you generate a summary, flashcard set or quiz, the relevant material is sent to Google's Gemini API to produce that output. This is processing carried out on our instruction to deliver a feature you asked for. Google's handling of that data is governed by its own terms — see the Gemini API terms.
Qwistra offers a school-controlled model. If you redeem a school invitation code, you are asked to consent explicitly, and your school's administrators can see your learning activity — including study time, streaks and progress. Your school can also suspend or restore your access.
Enrolment through a school is administered by that school, so you cannot remove yourself from it from within the app. If you want to leave a school, contact your school administrator.
We use a small number of processors to run the service:
We may also disclose data where we are legally required to do so.
We keep your account data for as long as your account is open. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data and study content, except where we are required to retain records — for example, payment records kept for accounting purposes. Backups are cycled out on a rolling basis.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
To exercise any of these, email support@qwistra.com. We will respond within a reasonable period.
Qwistra is used by students, including in school settings. Where a school enrols students, that school is responsible for obtaining any consent required under local law for pupils below the age of digital consent in their jurisdiction.
Data is encrypted in transit. Access to study content is restricted at the database level so that users can only reach their own data, or data their school is entitled to see. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures and fix issues promptly when they are reported.
If we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change is significant, notify you in the app.
